Italian drummer and producer Tommaso Cappellato, who is also the visionary behind the superb label Domanda Music and a frequent collaborator with Mark de Clive-Lowe, Dwight Trible and others, has just released the debut album from his new Los Angeles-based trio Explorare, which includes bassist Tony Martin and keyboardist Diego Gaeta.

This brilliant 7-track recording features a heavy-dose of cosmic and psychedelic groove-oriented jazz with dreamy warm-tone instrumentation and dynamic percussion rhythms.

Led by Cappellatto, Explorare represents an ever-evolving ensemble of LA’s finest jazz virtuosos, and embodies the spirit of musical community through a transformative journey that invites listeners to delve into the depths of sonic exploration, guided by carefully crafted energy and passion.

This also represents the first release from the Domanda Music digital-only sub-label, also named Explorare, which will focus on Los Angeles-based projects and musicians.

Overall, this is an impressive debut release from Tommaso Cappellato’s latest musical incarnation. Explorare is definitely a project and label worth keeping tabs on moving forward.
