Tel-Aviv based Shay Hazan Quintet featured on the Jazzman’s incredible 7inch series JAZZ45
For the tenth JAZZ45 release, in what has become an incredible 7inch series by London’s Jazzman Records, the label features the first single from Tel-Aviv, Israel based composer and bassist Shay Hazan and his quintet.
Side A is a soulful groover titled “Beber’s Cha Cha” featuring a piano-led waltz and some powerful layered horn melodies. The brilliant four-minute track is dedicated to Israeli jazz saxophonist great saxophonist Albert Beger, who is also a mentor to Albert Beger.
On the flip, “Old Tart” is a great spiritual jazz cut, featuring beautiful, ye haunting vocals that has a little bit of a Pharoah Sanders vibe.
As with all JAZZ45 releases, the 7inch features amazing original artwork, and are limited to just 600 copies worldwide. I highly recommend picking up a copy of this and every record in the series!
