Seeds Of Fulfillment’s 1981 Rare Jazz-Funk Album Reissued
Mo-Jazz Records (Tramp Records imprint) releases a welcomed reissue of the 1981 highly obscure jazz-funk LP from the Ohio-based septet Seeds Of Fulfillment.
The self-titled session, which results in the group’s only full-length recording, is a great mix of spacey Fender Rhodes grooves, funky percussive rhythms, layered horns, cosmic atmospheric tones, and soulful melodies. Even though it was released in the early eighties, the album has an overall spiritual electric jazz sound, reminiscent of the types of releases Black Jazz were putting out during the seventies.
Standout tracks include “The Provider,” “Nameste,” “Tight Squeeze,” and “Solemn Solitude.” Two of the group’s tracks (“The Provider” & “Solemn Solitude”) are also featured on the first two volumes of the excellent Praise Poems compilation series.
This brilliant reissue is limited to only 505 hand-numbered copies, and therefore you’re not going to want to sleep on this one!
