Producer John Beltran & Detroit collective Sol Set release Brazilian-inspired jazz dance debut
Legendary Michigan-based producer and DJ John Beltran has been at the forefront of techno and ambient electronic music since the mid-1990s. With the launch of his brand new label, All Good Music, Beltran has produced and released a brilliant Brazilian-inspired jazz dance debut by the Detroit collective Sol Set, titled Olá de Novo.
This incredible nine-track recording, which features over a dozen contributing musicians including Beltran playing keyboards, percussion, vocals, production duties and more, nicely blends sun-filled tropical grooves, samba and Latin-based rhythms, jazz, cosmic textures, and soulful vocal harmonies — all with a nod to the dancefloor. Each song has it’s own vibe with contributions from a number of different vocalists, however the album flows well and collectively works well collectively.
Incredible from start to finish, Beltran and the Sol Set collective have kicked off the All Good Music with a massive release. The warmer months have surely arrived, and so has the record of the summer!
Sol Set’s debut ‘Olá de Novo’ is out now in Europe, and will be officially released in U.S. on July 25, 2022
