Over the last decade, London-based Adam Scrimshire, who on his recordings simply goes by Scrimshire, has made his mark as one of today’s most forward-thinking producers. As a direct response to the frustration and anger that he felt in October 2022 related to the ongoing failures of the UK government, along with the horrible treatment of refugees, lower income individuals and more, he teamed up with an impressive cast of UK musicians and recorded this remarkably passionate new album, titled Paroxysm (which means: any sudden, uncontrollable outburst; a fit of emotion or action).

Originally formed in mid 2000s, New Zealand jazz collective The Circling Sun, whom is made up of record collectors, music producers and DJs, will be releasing their much-anticipated debut record, titled Spirits, later this May for the stellar London-based label Soundway Records.

Chicago-based composer, clarinetist, singer and educator Angel Bat Dawid and the International Anthem label have recently released a powerful new recording, Requiem for Jazz, that explores the strong interconnections between the foundations of jazz and the African American experience.

New York-based multi-instrumentalist Devin Brahja Waldman, known for his work under BRAHJA, teamed up with an eclectic group of musicians, including vocalist Ziad Qoulaii, for a new experimental recording under the name KADEF.

Swedish multi-instrumentalist Gustav Horneij, under his one-person Organic Pulse Ensemble alias, has recently released an incredible new spiritual jazz album, titled A Thousand Hands on the Spanish label 2 Headed Deer.
