Nicola Conte - Do You Feel Like I Feel / Ghana (feat. Gregory Porter)

Schema Records releases 7″ featuring Nicola Conte & Gregory Porter 2011 collaboration

The Italian-based label Schema Records has recently released a limited-edition 7” single featuring two tracks that producer, composer, guitarist, DJ, and spiritual jazz dance pioneer Nicola Conte recorded with modern-day jazz vocal great Gregory Porter back in 2011 on Conte’s previously CD/digital-only Impulse! Records album, Love & Revolution.

The two tracks, “Do You Feel Like I Feel” and “Ghana” came out right before Gregory Porter had his major breakthrough as an artist, releasing his debut album Water, which included the soul-jazz gem “1960 What?”. “Do You Feel Like I Feel” has a feel-good soulful vibe, while “Ghana” has a more Latin-groove that has plenty of juice for the jazz dancefloor. Both songs were also arranged by Magnus Lindgren.

This single precedes the welcomed release of the 2xLP vinyl version of Love & Revolution on Schema Records. After 13 years since this music came out, it’s great to see this timeless recording make it’s way on to wax.
