The Far East — I'm In Love

NYC’s The Far East release 7inch featuring their superb cover of Evelyn King’s boogie classic ‘I’m In Love’

Following the release of their brilliant debut album New York Is For Lovers at the tail end of 2020, the new school Lover’s Rock ensemble, has just released a limited-edition seven-inch single on Brooklyn-based label Names You Can Trust, featuring their superb rendition of Evelyn “Champagne” King’s 1981 boogie classic “I’m In Love”.

Under the guidance of producer Channel Tubes in the studio since their inception, The Far East have built a strong reputation among the thriving New York scene as one of the most prominent modern day ensembles pushing the sounds of reggae, and specifically Lover’s Rock forward. The group strongly embraces the music’s rich history, utilizing many of the essential studio methodologies that produced some of the genre’s classic recordings, while also continuing to provide a fresh new vibe to the sound.

This incredible new single is a massive dancefloor heavy-hitter that will no doubt be blasting in the dancehalls of Jamaica, New York, London, and across the globe for years to come. Maddie Ruthless’ impressive lead vocals certainly lead the way, however the instrumentation is also on point featuring Matt Burdi holding it down on drums and percussion , Christian Philippone on bass, Michael Sarason on keys and backing vocals, and Matt Kursmark on guitar.

For modern-day Lover’s Rock releases, it really doesn’t get any better. Another seven-inch single I expect to not be in-stock at record shops long. Highly recommended!
