Mr Bongo re-launches it’s in-demand series of Brazilian 45 releases
Now in their 31st year, the Brighton-based label Mr Bongo has consistently been at the forefront in releasing some of the deepest and most obscure Brazilian reissues. This year, the label/record shop has re-launched their well-curated series of classic Brazilian 45s, featuring a vibrant new design, and a fresh batch of unearthed Brazilian rarities.
Just within the first month of 2020, the UK label has already released seven 45-inch singles as a part of this re-launched series, with many more on the way. From Marcia Maria’s mid-tempo disco gem “Amigo Branco,” and Nonato & Seu Conjunto‘s organ-led groover “Cafuá,” to two highly obscure 1971 gems in Neno Exporta Som’s “Deixa A Tristeza,” and Renata Lú‘s soul-funk “Faz Tanto Tempo,” this series covers a lot of territory.
Even though all titles in the series are highly worth checking out, BeatCaffeine has highlighted our top four releases so far in the new collection. See full collection over at the Mr Bongo website.
