Jazz Room Records Reissues 1980 dancefloor fusion LP from Danish group Ariel

For the latest release on Paul Murphy’s Jazz Room Records, he revisits the obscure self-titled full-length debut from Danish jazz fusion group Ariel, which includes the massive jazz dance gem, “The Girl With Three Faces”.

Originally the eight-track recording came out on Danish producer Peter Littauer’s short-lived label, Pick Up Records, and musically includes everything from funky Latin and samba influenced rhythms to electric cosmic grooves and Rhodes driven workouts. The record also includes two selections (“Black Wing” & “When I Close My Eyes”) featuring Hawaiian singer Lei Aloha Moe.

The session also features keyboardist Anders Müller, tenor saxophonist Per Goldschmidt, bassist Klavs Hovman, and drummer Luiz Carlos “Chuim” De Siqueira.

From selling original copies of the album at Paul’s jazz vinyl shop “Fusion Records” to now reissuing it on his label, this is another superb and “must-own” addition to Jazz Room Records growing catalog of jazz dancefloor essentials.
