Placebo — P-Vine 7inch Series

Japan’s P-Vine Records releases three 7inch releases featuring Belgian jazz-funk legends Placebo

Japan’s P-Vine Records has recently released an incredible three-part limited-edition 7inch series highlighting some of the greatest tracks released by the legendary 70s Belgian jazz-funk band Placebo, led by pianist and composer Marc Moulin.

Each 7inch release features music from one of the group’s three classic recordings that they put out from 1971-74, including “Humpty Dumpty” and “You Got Me Hummin'” from 1971’s Ball of Eyes, “Balek” and “Phalène II” off the group’s Placebo 1973 album, and “Dag Madam Merci” and “S.U.S.” off their 1974 self-titled release. Even though all three highly-obscure albums are worth trying to track down (warning: it will cost ya!), these 7inch series represent some of the group’s best work.

When it comes to these well-crafted 7inch releases, the P-Vine label isn’t just stopping there. In April, they will be also putting out a three very limited box sets featuring color vinyl editions of these specific 7inch releases.

Overall, an impressive series of releases highlighting one of the greatest jazz-funk groups of all-time. Don’t sleep, these records should go very fast!
