Iconic producer John Beltran continues his Balearic explorations on superb new album ‘Serendipia’
For over the past three decades, iconic Michigan producer John Beltran has been one of the leading artists in fusing together experimental electronic music, techno, jazz and Brazilian influences. Building off of both last year’s highly acclaimed Sol Set project and Para Viajeros EP, in addition to his brilliant and ongoing Back To Bahia series, Beltran has returned with a superb new Balearic album on the Turkish label Oath, titled Serendipia.
Featuring nine sun-drenched tracks, this incredible record blends up-tempo latin percussion rhythms and tropical grooves, with hypnotic cosmic textures and vibrant soundscapes that feel like the sun’s rays are shining right through the music. Some the albums many highlights include “Cachaça”, “Sueños Soleados”, “Em Trancoso”, and “Sa Coma blue”, which features frequent collaborator John Arnold.
Overall, Beltran has once again created a masterful Balearic recording that allows the listener to get lost and escape into a warmer and more meditative environment that will have just about everyone wishing that the summer would never end.
