Yelfris Valdés breakthrough 2019 debut ‘For The Ones…’ gets remixed by Quantic, LCSM, Osunlade, K15 and others
In 2019, Cuban-born London-residing trumpeter Yelfris Valdés released his highly praised debut full-length album For The Ones … (named BeatCaffeine’s ‘2019 Album of The Year‘ & one of the ‘Jazz Albums of the 2010s‘ ). The incredible ten-track recording combines his Cuban roots and Yoruba traditions mixed with London-influenced jazz and electronic music. Now, through the assistance of some of the most forward-thinking producers, the dancefloor heat gets turned up tenfold as this breakthrough recording gets the remix treatment on For The Ones … Remixed.
Out now on the always on-point London-based Múscia Macondo Records, this new release features six mind-blowing remixes from For The Ones … by Quantic, K15, LCSM (aka IG Culture), Osunlade, Maxwell Owin, and Contours. From Osunlade’s “Yoruba Soul” house rendition of “After Sly”, to Quantic’s cosmic take on “Aceleyo Aña” and Likwid Continual Space Motion’s broken beat reworking of “Full Moon”, this record is brilliant from start to finish and will get just about any dancefloor moving.
As the warmer months are now upon us, and hopefully large dance parties are in near sight, this is a record this will undoubtedly be in heavy rotation globally. Limited to just 300 copies with 20% of the profit from the sales going to supplying instruments to music schools in Cuba, I recommend picking up a copy of this record quickly!
