Tommaso Cappellato’s Collettivo Immaginario releases massive disco-house 12inch ‘Tempo Al Tempo’
Following up their superb breakthrough 2022 debut album Transforma, the Italian-rooted Collettivo Immaginario, which is led by Italian-born Los Angeles-based drummer, producer and DJ Tommaso Cappellato, turn up the dancefloor heat on the group’s brand new limited-edition 12″ single Tempo Al Tempo.
As where last year’s Transforma explored 70s-inspired jazz-funk grooves (a la Azymuth, Lonnie Liston Smith, Herbie Hancock), the new single takes an even stronger aim to the dancefloor with a more cosmic disco-house sound blended together with Brazilian and 70s Italian library music influences. This session also includes an expanded ensemble, with Cappellato on drums, percussion, vocals and production, along with the two other founding members Nicolò Masetto (bass, guitar, vocals) and Alberto Lincetto (fender rhodes, clavinet, moog, vocals), with now the addition of Chauncey Yearwood (congas) and Danilo Plessow (moog).
On the flip, UK-born and Italy-based DJ, producer, and founder of Mother Tongue Records and pressing plant, Patrick Gibin provides an incredible remix that should receive plenty of play across global dancefloors.
This is definitely one of those twelves you’ll want to snatch up quickly, as I expect the limited release to fly off the shelves in no time — Highly Recommended!
