Steve Conry’s brilliant Ten Lovers Music kicks off 2024 with a massive cosmic jazz 7inch single release, titled Espresso, from Italian producer and multi-instrumentalist Marcello Cassanelli.

The A-side title track is an uptempo jazz dancer with a heavy dose of high-flying spacey keys and a slight Brazilian fusion groove, reminiscent of a super charged track from Azymuth. On the flip, Cassanelli slows the vibe down a notch on “They Groove”, with a cosmic boogie cut that still has plenty of juice for the dancefloor. On both songs, Cassanelli handles all the music, playing keys, bass, percussion and drum programming.

Overall, an impressive “must-own” early 2024 release from one of Italy’s rising artists and UK’s finest labels.
