The second wave of collaborative Jazz Is Dead releases from masterminds Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad kicks off with the first album in over 20 years from the great jazz, gospel, and soul vocalist Jean Carne.
When it comes to some of the most rare and essential music from all over the globe, there might not be a better resource than UK-based label and record shop Mr Bongo. Since 2016, their Record Club series has produced some of the best eclectic compilations during that span. They have recently released the highly-anticipated 5th volume of the series, sharing their latest musical discoveries and old favorites.

Over the last couple years, New York’s Frederiksberg Records has put out some of the highest quality and rarest reissue releases. That certainly remains the case with their official reissue of trumpeter Milt Ward’s extremely obscure 1977 adventurous cosmic jazz-funk album Milt Ward And Virgo Spectrum.
After being shelved for 47 years, an incredible 1975 live session for New York City’s listener-supported WBAI radio station featuring saxophonist, flautist, and composer Alan Braufman and his superb sextet receives an official release.
Flock is a new collaborative ensemble featuring five of London’s most forward-thinking and groundbreaking musicians, including percussionist, gyil player, producer Bex Burch (Vula Viel), drummer and tabla virtuoso Sarathy Korwar, synth wiz Dan “Danalogue” Leavers (Soccer96, The Comet Is Coming), pianist Al MacSween (Maisha) and bass clarinetist, flautist, and soprano saxophonist Tamar Osborn (Collocutor). Adventurous Italian bassist and composer Rosa Brunello, who often explores everything from progressive rock and jazz fusion to dub and experimental electronic music, is releasing a brilliant new full-length record, appropriately titled Sounds Like Freedom, on Tommaso Cappellato’s new label Domanda Music.
