Polish Jazz Septet EABS Collaborates with Tenderlonious on Live Recording
The Poland-based Electro Acoustic Beat Sessions jazz collective, better known as EABS, collaborate with London saxophonist and flutist Tenderlonious on an incredible new live EP.
EABS’ groundbreaking 2017 debut album was a dedication to Polish Jazz legend Krzysztof Komeda, and this new limited-edition release is the final chapter of this salute. Released on Tenderlonious’ 22a label, the record features new expansive renditions of two lesser known sixties-era compositions from Komeda, titled “Kraksa” and “Svantetic.”
Recorded live and straight to tape at Radio Opole in Poland, both tracks are heavy-hitting jazz dance groovers, blending funky percussive rhythms and cosmic electric synth melodies with virtuosic and hi-octane solos from EABS’ tenor saxophonist Olaf Wegier and Tenderlonious, who plays both flute and saxophone on the recording.
Limited to only 1000 copies worldwide, this brilliant new twelve-inch is one of the best jazz recordings of the year, bringing together some of the most forward-thinking jazz musicians in the world right now.
