Paris-based Camarão Orkestra releases tropical funk scorcher ‘Nação África’

It’s the middle of summer, and as many of us enjoy the warm weather nights, the Paris-based ensemble Camarão Orkestra has just released the Brazilian-influenced dance floor funk gem single “Nação África.”

With the group’s first new full-length in three years shortly on it’s way, this new twelve-inch single is a mid-tempo tropical groover, featuring soaring trumpet melodies, soulful female vocals, funky percussion rhythms, wah-wah guitars, and a heavy disco bass line. On the b-side, the always brilliant Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart contributes two solid remixes, including a spacey-synth focused rendition, and an electro-inspired “late night dub” version of the track.

As we anxiously await the Orkestra’s highly-anticipated forthcoming album, the 12-piece French group treats us to one of the best tropical funk twelves of the summer. Things are certainly heating up …
