Glasgow’s Nuovi Fratelli is superb production duo featuring DJ and producer Wayne Dickson and sound engineer, music producer, and synth wiz Luigi Pasquini. Over the last several years, they have really stepped onto the UK music scene, producing artists like jazz-fusion juggernaut Nimbus Sextet, folk-funk group The Paracosmos, and contributing arguably the best remix of STR4TA’s modern-day Brit-funk gem “Rhythm in Your Mind” (released on an EP in 2021 by Colin Curtis.

For the duo’s most recent production, they have remixed Nimbus Sextet’s standout self-titled track from their 2022 album Forward Thinker, which they also produced. Primed for the dancefloor, Nuovi Fratelli turn up the heat on what was already an incredible jazz-funk track, giving the original a cosmic disco lift. The new rendition also includes some soulful vocals from Marianne McGregor and Mother All Mighty, which include Naledi Herman, Kirsty Innes, and Jana Scholtzova.

Currently the track is only available digitally, however hopefully we will see this jazz dancefloor burner on wax sometime in the future (or at least I will personally keep pushing for that).

As we make our way, in a few months, to the festival season, this should be a track that receives plenty of play.
