The fantastic Glasgow-based production duo Nuovi Fratelli, featuring DJ and producer Wayne Dickson and sound engineer, music producer, and synth wiz Luigi Pasquini have teamed up again with the superb jazz ensemble Nimbus Sextet, along with special guest vocalists Russell Stewart and lissappear (aka Lissa Chen Robertson) on an incredible new rendition of Roy Ayers’ 1976 soul-jazz classic “Searching”.

This track was recorded during the same sessions that will inevitably result in Nimbus Sextet’s much-anticipated third full-length, which will also be produced Nuovi Fratelli (who also produced the group’s previous two recordings). The track keeps the soulful foundation of Ayers’ two-step groover, while amplifying the cosmic energy and vocal harmonies.

Currently only available digitally, the track has already seen some heavy rotation by many notable DJs and online radio hosts, including Gilles Peterson, Colin Curtis, Jazzcat, Craig Charles and others. Rumor has been circulating that a very welcomed vinyl release could be in the future. Let’s all hope!
