Mr Bongo releases Volume Five of their incredible Record Club compilation series

When it comes to some of the most rare and essential music from all over the globe, there might not be a better resource than UK-based label and record shop Mr Bongo. Since 2016, their Record Club series has produced some of the best eclectic compilations during that span. They have recently released the highly-anticipated 5th volume of the series, sharing their latest musical discoveries and old favorites.

Similar to the first four volumes, the compilations touches upon a wide range of genres like Afro-Latin and Brazilian grooves, South African and Japanese jazz, Afro-funk, cinematic library music, cosmic soul, disco and just about everything in-between. The selections spanned from the 70s up to the present day, and originated from Brazil, Cuba, Ghana, Jamaica, Japan, Mauritania, South Africa, Sweden, Trinidad and Tobago, the UK, and the US. There is also an exclusive track from Sven Wunder which was recorded solely for this compilation.

As with all other volumes in the series, this recording is absolutely brilliant from start to finish, and continues to be a phenomenal platform in unearthing and highlighting many lesser-known gems and lost rarities. Now in it’s fifth volume, it’s safe to say that this is one of the best active compilation series in all of music.
