Scrimshire — Nothing Feels Like Everything

London’s Scrimshire returns with incredible new atmospheric electro-jazz album, ‘Nothing Feels Like Everything’

Highly innovative London-based singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ, Adam Scrimshire, who is also one of the minds behind both Wah Wah 45s and the Albert’s Favourites labels, returns with an incredible new atmospheric and deeply meditative full-length album, titled Nothing Feels Like Everything.

Recorded during the lockdown and heavily influenced by that isolation, Scrimshire captures the whirlwind of different emotions that surround such an experience from hopefulness to loss in this new nine track album. With only four vocal contributions on the session, Nothing Feels Like Everything is his most instrumental exploration to date, nicely blending together elements of spiritual jazz, warm synth melodies, hypnotic grooves, atmospheric textures, electronics, and cinematic string arrangement. Similar to those complex feelings during the pandemic, the album flows beautifully from one mood to the next.

Even under a lockdown state, Scrimshire was able to make the best out of the situation and continue his heavily collaborative approaching on the recording, featuring guest appearances from an superb cast of artists including Jessica Lauren, Idris Rahman (Soothsayers, Wildflower, Ill Considered), Nat Birchall, Huw Marc Bennett, Miryam Solomon, Emanative and recent Albert’s Favourites signing Pie Eye Collective.

Overall, a brilliant album that is really in touch with the intense and strong emotions that we all experienced (and continue to experience) over the last 18+ months. By far, Scrimshire has produced one of the best albums of 2021 that will probably have many listening to it on repeat.
