London’s groove-oriented lounge trio Les Hommes releases highly-anticipated album ‘Sì, così’
Beginning with the release of Les Hommes breakthrough debut album in 2000 on Schema Records, titled The Mood is Modal, the East London trio has continued to receive much acclaim through a number of follow-up recordings. In much-anticipation, the group releases their first full-length since 2017, titled Sì, così on Sudded Hunger Records.
This brilliant new 11-track album leans into the group’s groove-oriented lounge jazz sound with a solid dose of cinematic funk, deep-space tones, 70s Italian library music influences and exotica percussion. Led by Rory More‘s soulful explorations on the mid-century Lowrey organ, the recording also features bass clarinet, Arcadian flutes, conga-based rhythms and more.
Incredible from start to finish, this is one of those albums that you’ll undoubtedly have on repeat as everything hits just right. The album is perfect for those more laid-back settings, however includes enough “nu jazz” punch on a number of standout selections, like “Nightdrive” and “Così Così” to find their way on the dancefloor. Regardless of the setting, another superb release and a welcomed return for Les Hommes.
