London’s Da Lata covers Manfredo Fest’s Brazilian fusion classic “Jungle Kitten” on brilliant new single
The London-based Afro-Brazilian soulful jazz duo known as Da Lata, featuring multi-instrumentalist and producer Chris Franck and legendary DJ and producer Patrick Forge (Dingwalls) have returned with an incredible new twelve-inch single featuring new renditions of two essential Brazilian jazz dance classics in Manfredo Fest’s 1979 “Jungle Kitten” and Raffaela Renzulli Ensemble’s 1987 “Asking Eyes”.
Both tracks on this must-own single are brilliant, fusing together Samba, cosmic jazz, and disco grooves, with some warm uplifting vibes that are primed perfectly for the dance floor. Broken beat legend and keyboard juggernaut Kaidi Tatham lays down some funky lead synth lines on “Jungle Kitten”, while Vanessa Freeman provides some soulful vocals on the feel-good jam “Asking Eyes”.
On the verge of selling out in a matter of days since it’s official release on May 7th, “Jungle Kitten” might possibly be the dance floor track of the summer, and certainly one of the best twelve-inch releases of the year. All I can say is hurry up, and get your copy fast … HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
