London’s cosmic quartet Kinkajous release debut album ‘Hidden Lines’

The London-based quartet Kinkajous has recently released their brilliant cosmic groove-oriented debut album titled Hidden Lines off the Nottingham label Running Circle.

After a solid breakthrough EP release in 2016, and a few lineup changes, this nine-track recording sees the band taking a major step forward musically. The album perfectly fuses together jazz influenced instrumentation, electronic tones, spacey ambient melodies, and horn solos, that are backed by driving rhythms and heavily layered grooves.

The group features original members Adrien Cau (tenor saxophone/bass clarinet) and Benoît Parmentier (drums/production), as well as more recent newcomers Maria Chiara Argirò (piano/rhodes) and bassist Andres Castellanos.

Overall this is truly a remarkable album that, beginning from the first note and up until the final track, takes the listener on a cosmic journey. Hidden Lines is absolutely up there with the best recordings released this year.
