On the heels of the release of the brilliant Nova Vida debut album and last year’s breakthrough Firebird recording, legendary UK-based producer Chris Bangs returns with another incredible new release, titled Dream World on Acid Jazz Records.

Influenced by jazz-funk pioneers Mizell Brothers, Wayne Henderson, George Duke (also features a great rendition of Duke’s “My Soul”), and his acid jazz roots, this 9-track full-length builds off the foundation from his last few recordings with a heavy dose of uptempo grooves primed for the jazz dancefloor. This album also includes a fusion of Latin and Brazilian/samba rhythms, spacey cosmic keys, and soulful horns.

The session also includes an impressive cast of musicians from around the world, including Argentine keyboardist Luciano De La Rosa, Italian trombonist Massimo Morganti, Chilean trumpeter Juan Pi Salvo, and saxophonist Fabio Tiralongo.

Overall, another forward-thinking modern-day jazz dance classic from one of the true pioneers of the scene. Highly recommended!
