Just in time for the warmer months, French jazz-funk quartet Aldorande follow-up their breakthrough self-titled debut album with a brilliant new EP Summer Body / Breakfast in Space on Favorite Recordings’ 2020 Disco Jazz-Funk series.

This four-track EP includes two original tracks, backed by two dub mixes from DJ and producer Charles Maurice. The record open with “Summer Body,” which is a breezy balearic boogie groover, blending together mid-tempo jazz-funk, AOR melodies, and catchy Brazilian-influenced vocals. On the flip, “Breakfast in Space” is an epic P-funk cosmic bender featuring slap bass, driving disco rhythms, spacey-synths, and psychedelic vocals.

Led by bassist and founder Virgile Raffaëlli, the impressive group also features keyboardist Florian Pellissier, drummer Mathieu Edouard, and percussionist Erwan Loeffel. For this new EP, they are also joined by French guitarist Farid Baha, who also plays with Cotonete and Camarão Orkestra. 

Overall, this is a great new EP that will help bring some warm feel-good dancefloor vibes to what continues to be uncertain and disturbing times.
