Echo Chamber Recordings — Romero Bros — Samba de Flora

Echo Chamber Recordings releases brilliant cover of Airto’s “Samba de Flora” by Romero Bros

The superb new UK-based Echo Chamber Recordings has released a white-label 7″inch” release of a brilliant cover of Airto Moreira’s jazz dancefloor classic “Samba de Flora” by the North Argentinian group Romero Bros.

The cover track originally arrived at ECR HQ in the form of a one sided 10” dubplate lasting 6.45 minutes, and edited into two parts for the 7″ with an overlap so DJs can seamlessly mix two copies to recreate the full version.

Building off the foundation of Airto’s 1989 version, Part 1 has an uptempo groove that blends blistering Latin-influenced percussion with prominent piano lines and soulful vocals, while Part 2 continues the journey with more vocals and a saxophone solo.

Limited to just 400 copies, I expect this collectable 7″ to sell out very quickly. Definitely one of the singles of the year. Highly recommended!

I heard this on Colin Curtis and bought part 1 yesterday. The female vocals are a nice contrast from the original and sound really great!
