Danish ensemble Søren Skov Orbit release tripped-out cosmic debut
Co-founded by tenor and soprano saxophonist Søren Skov (also of Debre Damo Dining Orchestra) and keyboardist Peder Vind, Søren Skov Orbit is an experimental Danish quintet that was formed back in 2016. The group has just released their brilliant debut album, Adrift, on the superb New York-based Frederiksberg Records.

Italian producer, singer, vinyl collector, DJ and music producer Mistura Pura (aka Federica Grappasonni), who’s put out a number of superb singles over the last couple of years (see ‘Vamo Vive’ 7″), has just released a couple new tracks digitally in anticipation of her forthcoming full-length album on Ubiquity Records in early 2025.

Manchester-based multi-instrumentalist Nat Birchall, who’s mostly made a name for himself as a saxophonist among the UK jazz scene, continues his explorations into the sounds of Jamaica with another superb instrumental roots reggae-influence album, titled Dimension of the Drums.

The Leeds-based label ATA Records has recently released a great new soulful Afrobeat 12inch single “Feel It For Yourself” from the United Disco Organisation, which is led by bassist Neil Innes of the UK group The Sorcerers, along with Joost Hendrickx (also of The Sorcerers), guitarist Chris Dawkins, and percussionist Danny Templeman.
