Bongo Joe presents incredible new Latin dance compilation curated by Coco Maria
With the warmer months and the ability to gather again upon us, Amsterdam-based label Bongo Joe and Worldwide FM radio DJ Coco María have teamed up to release one of the dance floor records of the summer with a brilliant new Afro-Latin compilation, titled Club Coco.
This incredible compilation includes eleven hot-sizzling selections featuring some of María’s favorite Latin-influenced artists right now, including exclusives from Nico Mauskovic, La Perla, Meridian Brothers, Frente Cumbiero, and Malphino. She also provides her own production “Me Veo Volar”, which is arguably the record’s best track.
Originally from Saltillo, Mexico, Coco María is well-traveled, living in London, Berlin, and now resides in Amsterdam. Her Wednesday morning Worldwide FM show (definitely a BeatCaffeine favorite!) has become one of the online radio station’s most popular broadcasts, where she spins essential and new Latin gems, jazz, reggae, dub, soul and just about everything in-between. Part of her goal in doing this compilation is to showcase the wide array of different and evolving global Latin styles beyond the more traditionally known salsa, son and bachata. On Club Coco, she focuses on those groundbreaking groups that continue to explore new sounds of tropical music, incorporating influences from Brazil, South and Central America, and the Caribbean, while still staying true to the roots of their genres.
This well-crafted release, featuring amazing artwork from Felix Vincent, also comes in Turquoise color-vinyl with a number of different colored cover options (even though those are already quickly selling out).
Superb from start to finish, this is compilation will turn up the heat on just about any dance floor. Without a doubt, this is definitely one of the best compilations of the year. Highly recommended!
