Björn Wagner’s Magic Source releases spaced-out dancefloor 12″ via Favorite Recordings
French label Favorite Recordings has recently released an incredible new 12inch spaced-out dancefloor heater from producer Björn Wagner’s latest project Magic Source. Known as the mind behind both the Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band and The Mighty Mocambos, this brilliant feel-good single explores the more unusual facets of left-field disco.
Recorded on 16 track analogue tape with inexpensive vintage gear, the record leads off with the tropical cosmic groover “Riviera Drive”, which incorporates lo-fi funk, hypnotic echo tones, library-like cinematic textures, horn melodies, and driving disco four-to-the-floor rhythms.
The flip features an incredible instrumental rendition of Tom Tom Club’s 1981 classic “Genius Of Love” that incorporates a soulful flute melody and a laid-back soulful yacht vibe.
Overall, a superb new 12inch single release that should be in heavy rotation on tropical dancefloors throughout 2022 and beyond!
