Nicola Conte & Nico Lahs present Tema Due — ‘EP2’
(Schema Records)
Ahead of the duos forthcoming full-length album, Italian producers Nicola Conte and Nico Lahs release their second EP over the past few months on Schema Records, simply titled EP2. Featuring three superb tracks, the recording fuses together spiritual jazz grooves, hard-hitting African-inspired percussion rhythms, and cosmic electronic textures with a strong nod to the dance floor. The session also includes a number of notable special guests, including talented young Brazilian percussionist Gabriel Prado, longtime collaborator and pianist Pietro Lussu, Brazilian vocalist Nina Miranda, Giovanni Guidi on Fender Rhodes and synths. The anticipation for this project’s full-length continues to grow quickly with each release.

Ella & The Bossa Beat — ‘Amare’ 7″
(Schema Records)
The Brazilian duo of vocalist/pianist Ella Borges and her father and percussionist Magrus team up with longtime Schema Records artist Toco for a great new 7inch single release Amare. This incredible track blends together vocal jazz and bossa nova tinged with a Mediterranean flavor. On the flip, Italian nu jazz pioneer Gerardo Frisina turns things up a notch with a rhythmic and percussion heavy friendly rendition.

Chris Bangs & Mick Talbot — ‘K-Jee’ 7″

On the A-side is an incredible jazz dance rendition of the Nite Liters disco classic “K-Jee”, which was also notably covered by MFSB. On the flip is a reworked boom bap version of Talbot’s “Pick N’ Mick’s” from the Back to Business sessions by hip hop pioneer DJ Premier Inn.
