4hero’s Marc Mac releases superb Brazilian-inspired broken beat EP
Following the release of two outstanding EPs from last year, Ah-Free-Ka and Ja-Maye-Ka, Marc Mac, who is half of the groundbreaking broken beat duo 4hero, continues his exploration into sounds from around the world with a superb new EP, titled Br-Azil-Ah.
As the name suggests, this incredible 4-track recording incorporates Brazilian-rooted influences through a London lens that blends together broken beat grooves, electronic beats, samba rhythms, strings and jazz.
On this session, Marc handles all the production, strings, piano and bass, and is joined by guest musicians Luke Parkhouse on percussion, Nathan Haines on saxophone, Octavio Santos on trumpet, and Mookie Williams on alto and baritone saxophones.
As we edge towards the final warmer weeks of the year, Marc Mac has produced one of this summer’s essential dancefloor releases and one of the best EPs of 2022. Highly recommended!
